Mughli (spice pudding)

It is usually served to guests by the family of a new born baby.

Serves 8

Ingredients:

6 cups of water
1 cup of rice powder/flour
2 cups of icing sugar
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
1 ½ teaspoon of caraway
Assortment of nuts (almonds, pistachios, and pine put in water for an hour or two), walnuts, and fine shredded coconut

Method:

1) Boil 3 cups of water in a saucepan.

2) Mix the sugar, cinnamon and caraway together then add to the boiling water until the sugar is dissolved and the color of the mixture is brownish.

3) Add the rice powder to the remaining cold water and put it with the mixture in the saucepan. Reduce the heat and stir the mixture with a wooden spoon.

4) Stir until the mixture thickens and coats the spoon. Remove from heat and put in individual bowls or a large one. Let cool, then put in fridge.

Garnish with nuts and coconut.
